Just recently, kids and teachers celebrated the first 100 days of school—an epic moment because it officially marked the halfway point of the school year. (Cheers, roars, fists in the air!) While the hoopla was in play, I was struggling with my first 100 words for a new project.
Never underestimate those first 100 words because, before they arrive on the screen, there's nothing. Just a big, old blank page staring you down. And if you’re counting, which writers often do, those words need to be cherry-picked. Swirled like brandy in a glass. Pointed like a freshly sharpened pencil.
